i recently installed 16" apes on my nightster. i was waiting on the Namz wire extension kit from JP cycles and when it finally came in i installed it. i start my bike and it ran fine. everything worked BUT the headlight!!!! all the wires matched so i dont understand why i have blown a fuse for the headlamp. i must have grounded a wire somewhere?

any help is much appreciated. thanks!

 

Did you make a connection while the wires were hot?

 

Update: one of the new extension wires has a burn from the short. Its on one of the 3 coming from the hi/lo beam switch. Could the burn be caused from the connection from old wire to extension not being sufficient? I'm so lost on this.
