does the custom have a tank mounted speedo? and problems with seats fitting with the tank swap?

No, and I think no. There is a decent gap where the seat and tank meet on the nightster (mister up above, did you have to change your seat?).

I have the 1200 Custom and no, it doesnt have the tank mounted speedo, there is a thin chrome detail strip which runs along the middle of the tank which might be what caused you to have thought it did. But this is purely cosmetic. I've changed the seat on mine to a sundowner and its a quick and easy job to swith between them.

All those asking for photographs, he said that this was something he wanted to do, not had done, so how could he have photographs. However, in the very second post on this thread someone else has very kindly included some excellent photographs of his Nighster with the 4.5 gallon tank. I wasnt certain how well this would work on a Nightster, but IMHO it looks great. But I'm in a minority of not being all that keen on the peanut tank personaly, but each to their own. Different strokes as they say.

that looks awesome, i'm sold! what model tank did you use? i like it way more than the one with the strip down the middle. also, what sissy bar is that? is it HD? the gf has been bothering me for one, i never liked them till i saw yours, but I checked and they're like $300!!!!!!

I agree with you, his tank looks much nicer than mine which has the chrome strip. Its a cool looking custom paint job as well.
