NIGHTSTER PROBLEM, fuel light/cutting out and dying!
#11
Maybe your ECM was overcompensating (as much as it can anyway) and making it run too rich. I had my Hooker Troublemakers on for a week without the PCIII and SE AC cuz the dumbass dealer "forgot" to put them on. Anyway, my bike was blowing a little bit of soot like smoke when revved. I believe that means its running rich. Maybe someone can correct me on that.

my fuel light comes on around 110 miles, and the light should be coming on with about .8 gal left in the tank, so if your fueling up with 2.5 gallons then you still have about .8 left in your tank, so you could actually get about another 25-30 miles out of it, before my bike was having the problems the light would come on and i have taken it another 35 miles with the light on and when i fueled it, it took about 3 gallons. so there is something wrong with mine, its at the dealer right now getting work done to figure out and fix the problem, cuz there is no way that when the light comes on it should cut out and die.

HD dealerships use their own computer system kinda like Snap-On,MegaSquirt,FIP,etc. and they just plug it into your computer and change the fuel maps and ignition to compensate for the changes made

so the problem turned out to be that the dealer, (who are a bunch of retards) had my bike put together and sitting along with all there other bikes they assemble, well they but a lil fuel in them for when people decide they wanna take one for a test ride, and buy them, well the dumbasses at the dealer left the fuel in the tank, not all the way topped off, and they didnt fog the tank at all, so this caused condensation to build up on the top part of the tank and that caused rust to build up and when you fill up the tank all the way, the fuel pushed the water to the bottom of the tank and some of the rust particles were down in the water, so i had water and rust sitting in the bottom of the tank. when the tank was getting empty it was trying to suck the fuel out, which was actually murky dirty rusty water, so that ended up clogging and ruining the fuel filter and screen, and when this problem began i had only had my bike for 4 weeks so there was no way that the rust could of been caused by me, so the dealer is putting on a new tank, fuel filter and screen, and for there mistakes i got a $500 dollar gift card for them being idiots, cuz i went right to the owner and the service manager of the dealership. so problem is getting solved tomorrow.
