If so, that's not to far from Augusta GA. Use to live there when I was a kid and only remember a few things, but you must check out Sconyers BBQ. They also have river boat races that we use to go to yearly and I remember having fun there.
Pops lives in Anderson SC. There's a lot of great roads in SC, but there's a lot of deer too.

Yeah you won't miss that winter.Very little down time in the winter especially if you ride in the cold up there.Great small town.Beware though people are definitely friendlier than NY.I'm from upstate NY and have been down south since the 70's.Always ask people how there doing by habit.When I go home you ask people that and they look at you like you're gonna rob them or something.To bad the governor has bought SC to national attention for the wrong reason.Good luck and enjoy.Post up when you get here.That's a nice ride from where I live in Ga Be happy to ride over and buy ya a welcome to cackalacky beer.G.
