i have a 1200 custom 2001 i took the baffolds off so they are straight pipes. I was wondering should i rejet the carb after i took the baffolds off i seem to be getting worse gas mileage. i would assume i need to rejet. where would i go about buying a kit or whatever i need. thanks dm

well if you took baffles out then they are straight pipes, you need some back presure there

jets kits get from J&P cycles

Without some sort of baffle breaking-up the reversion wave you lose much of your low end torque. Bigger jets will not improve your mileage.

It is a well-matched combination of intake and exhaust and jet sizes and carb settings that make for a good running machine. Lot's of good information at nightrider.com.

Removing your baffles = better sound & loss of low-mid range torque.
Re-jetting should not be necessary unless you change to a high flow A/C.
