Default Back Firing

Hey guys,

I've had my bike for a little over a week now and I've noticed that it occasionally backfires. It has occurred twice when I roll on the throttle after being stopped at a light. I've researched a bit and it seems to be coming from the carb, not the pipes. Should this be anything I should be concerned with? I'm going to Harley dealer after work, but I'm not going to mention it if I don't need to (because they'll probably try to find a way to make me buy something to fix it)

thanks in advance,
Kevin

Owning an 04 Sporty myself before go spending big bucks might want to change your CPS ( Crankcase Position Sensor ) Even if that does not solve the problem won't hurt to have a spare .. Went through 2 of them on my 04 .. If Starts and runs fine cold then gives a pop pop stuff after warmed up when stopped and seems like hard to roll off a stop ... This could very well solve and a simple change out ... Sits right in front by the Shifter and only two wires that can't confuse...

Ya might want to check the nuts securing the pipes to the heads, they tend to back off and if they are loose, then the flange that sits on the studs may also be loose, and that will also cause a backfire.
