Hey guys,

So, I've been thinking of how to make the new bike "mine". I've decided that I want to start with a custom painted fuel tank. However, a lady at the dealer advised me not to paint my current tank because it will lower the resale value if I ever want to get rid of the bike (doubtful, but valid point). Does anyone know how I would acquire a fuel tank? Does anyone know of any reputable manufacturers? This is purely for exploratory purposes. I haven't come up with a design or anything yet, but I wanna start exploring.

Oh yeah, I'm looking to theme it University of Wisconsin red with a motion "W" logo and some cool graphics. We'll see how it turns out.

 

E-bay would be my first stop for a tank. You need to ask yourself what kind of tank do you want. Do you want a stock tank or a strech tank? Each has their merrits. What year bike are we talking about?

 

i've got an '06 883L. what is a stretch tank?

 

road rage in spring grove does really good work. but that is upper illinois, i dont know where u are.

 

I'm also doing custom paint and getting a new tank to do it with. J&P cycles sells a 4.5 gallon tank un-painted.
