FYI: when selecting an oil filter for your Sporty EVO motor, the MoCo calls for a 30 micron filter. Due to the low pressure oil system used in EVO motors, using a smaller micron filter size can cause the filter to stay in the bypass mode. This is essentially the same thing as having no filter at all.
Many manufactures don't list the micron spec for their filters and some of the filters listed above are 5, 10 and 20 micron. The K&N 171 filter for instance is a 10 micron filter. The fact that a filter is listed as a cross to the MoCo filter because it's the same "size" and "fits" the motor, is no guarantee that it is the same size micron filter or that it has the same PSI bypass point.
The HD filters are manufactured by Champion and are good quality. The chrome HD filter for the Sporty costs me less than $9.00 at the local dealer, less than many other aftermarket filters.
BTW: I've done a bit of research on filters and there are some good filters out there, but I wouldn't put a FRAM filter on my lawn mower.

Have you considered buying online directly from HD? I bought some a couple of weeks ago and it wound up costing me under $11 per chrome filter with shipping.
