Question recommendations for new Nightster seat?

I've heard that the Nightster has an uncomfortable seat and I'm wondering who's changed theirs out. I'm looking for one that looks origional but won't kill my **** on longer trips. I've looked at this site http://www.ccseats.com/sportster2006.htm but not sure if the lo-pro would be too little padding, but I think it would look nice. If you've changed your seat out and like the one you have, please include pics and your thoughts on it. Thanks in advance.

I was wondering the same thing, I have searched the forum, but don't recall seeing a recommendation that will keep the original look, with the gap between the seat and the tank, perhaps I just missed it...so many posts

I changed out my factory unit for the HD leather Brawler seat. That's far more comfortable than the original. Looks good on the bike. This year I went to the Mustang solo seat so the Brawler seat is for sale. HD MSRP of $325 I want half of it back. That's a deal,

Default what i would do....

if i were you i'd spend that money on your suspension. i hated the stocker as well but when i upgraded the suspension to progressive 412's (heavy duty's) it was like night and day. plus. i liked the way the stocker sat you lower than any other aftermarket i've seen for it. i then went ahead and had the seat tooled professionally by a guy in NJ (rmhcustomleather.com).

1200Hz, does the Mustang you have retain the original look with the gap between the tank/seat ?

If you want the gap just order a seat that is for the larger tanks.

I left no gap but have a mustang fastback. I like the seat and the look a lot. No pics of it though.

Default Mustang Seat

The first thing I bought for my Sportster was a Mustang Seat. It looks a little Fat on there but I have 2 crushed discs and love my Mustang Seat. I rode from Nashville to Michigan 2 summers ago too. Maybe next I'll get a GEL seat cover to make it even more comfortable. I used my brother in law's gel gloves and they were sweet!!!

I just took the stock seat and shaved the foam back about two inches. It made it feel like a completely new seat, while keeping the stock look. No pain in my tailbone from a long ride, and I don't feel like i'm on top of the gas tank. Find a local seat guy and it shouldn't cost more then $150. Mine was more because I had a logo laser etched into the leather!

As others have said about the N, yes, you can maintain the gap between the seat and the tank by using a seat that would normally butt up tight against the larger 4.x gallon tank. Smaller tank yields a gap.
