Default exhaust help?!

I have a 87 883 with 1200 kit, cams, and 2 in drag pipes. A guy told me last night that I would gain power going to a 1 7/8 drag pipe or a set of pipes with baffles in it. is this true? It is plenty fast enough as is but I was wondering if this was a true statement.

You will get more power with baffles for sure. I don't know about the 1 7/8" pipe. A good 2 into 1 with baffles will provide even more power.

He was right about the 17/8" pipes and baffles. But, drag pipes suck unless you ride WOT all the time, a good 2-1 is the way to go.

Yep, it will have more bottom end power with baffles in the 2 inchers or 1 3/4 pipes with at least a little restriction, like a lollipop baffle or even a bolt thru the end.

Man a set of stock pipes from any 99 or older bike with a good set of mufflers will run as good as anything out there and I'd stay away from RBracing, they build a good product but are not nice to deal with and it takes forever or longer to get one of there pipes.
