Default Parts

The problem with Salvage guys is the parts are used before, which means an electrical light could work there, but when you put it on and ride the vibrations shake it loose and they don't work anymore. Just a single possibility. Plus there's the searching for the correct fit or part. I would suggest looking into some of the Catalog companies, J&P Cycle, etc... You know the parts will fit and work, and if they don't you send them back and get your money back. Search the internet or buy a biker magazine to look through the ad's.
Enjoy your new project...

Does anyone have any tips of what I should be looking for as far as fit or any suggestions as to where to purchase them. I have a motorcycle salvage place really close that sells used Harley parts but you have to make sure that the parts you get are in rather good condition. I made the decision based on the mileage and me customizing and putting my own blood, sweat and tears into it. I would apprecitate it more that way instead of already having one that is already done.

Thanks

Thanks everyone, I have the HD at the house in DE and here I am in Ohio TDY. I rode it home and it felt great, great power and quick response. I won a bit on a Dyna Tank on E-Bay but the guy stated it was for a 1990's model. Did some research and found out it was a 2007 model and will not adapt to my Harley. Can't wait to get home to start riding, so that will be about a week. Again thanks for everything.

dogedog right now on ebay theres a buell head, axtell cylinder and cp piston set up for cheap. theres only gonna be more as the months go by here so dont be in a rush to hotrod out (the urge'll get pretty strong!) anything sportster 2003 down will fit you with little to no modification and same for 2002 down buell. the 2004 heads along with some other parts can be retrofit with a little work an $. have fun
