It just means that the rotor surface and the pad surface aren't absolutely parallel.

Almost every Harley (including BT) I've encountered do this, no worries man. Unless you can feel the bike slowing down (kind've a surging motion) then I wouldn't worry about your rotor being warped. Go out and ride it.

Default Brake Rubbing

If the brake rotor were warped causing lateral run-out, you'd feel a distinct pulsating when you applied the front brake to stop the bike. If the brake rotor were warped as in dished, you'd have obvious unusual wear patterns on the rotor and pads.

Slight contact is perfectly normal and isn't anything to be concerned about.

I have the same problem at times. Sometimes after a long day riding the front brake starts to squeal. Anything that can be done about the noise?

My 02 was doing that last week. Took off the caliper and checked the pads... one of them was worn at an angle and I suspect that it caused the pistons on that side to become jammed and wouldn't retract. All I did was replace the pads with new ones and now it doesn't rub at all.... I would check for uneven pad wear just to be safe. It only takes 2 min. to remove the caliper. I believe those bolts require a 10mm 12-point socket
