Default Dang!!! Big Sucker.

Took my Arlen Ness Big sucker K&N filter off to clean and WTF do I find!! The stupid backing plate is cracked in 3 places one of which is in a bolt hole the other 2 are in the body of the backing plate. I contacted Arlen Ness and they are sending me a new backing plate. The funny thing is the backing plate has already shipped out. Talk about taking care of the customer!!! If i had not taken this thing off some of the loose material from the backing plate would have been sucked into the engine.

Lucky you found it. It is always good to deal with a company that works with the customer. I have never purchased anything from them but maybe I will in the future.

Thanks for the heads up Crazy. I inspected mine and saw that the backing plate had hairline cracks in it. They are sending me a replacement with no hassles at all free of charge.

Thanks Again.

I just this week replaced my backing plate. As soon as i pulled one of the breather bolts on the old backing it fell apart. the one bolt i must have torqued a little tight but what caused the other cracks? I'm just glad the install of these things are super easy. The only bad thing was Arlen ness left out the orings and gaskets. I contacted them again and they sent them out right away. Only took 2 days to get them in. I really think they need to make those backing plates out of a different material. That stuff is very brittle.

I am sorry to hijack your thread, but I wanted to comment on my experience with a high flow AC, I went the HRHS route with their HurricaneFlow Air Cleaner, I really like it!... the whole assembly is milled/cnc aluminum and is a very solid and simple to install assembly, I use the stock looking version, but I decided to remove the cover, and I believe it looks great!.. sorry again, but I was just curious as to why the HurricaneFlow Air Filter does not seem to be that popular (I do not work for them :-)
