buddy of mine bought a frame but no paper work. the frame has numbers. he wants to transfer a motor from another bike to this frame. can he title the bike with the motor or does he need the paper work for the frame.

 

different states have different rules, i think in FL its your choice...not gettin ins or it is gonna be a whole nother story

 

Like old skool1983 said, it's different in each state. In Utah you would be okay to swap the engine, it's the frame #'s that they track.

 

In NC the title is for the motor and tranny,

 

how can we find out? this would be for the state of pennsylvania

 

Call the DMV; those nice, happy, folk would be glad to help out.
