Brighter Head Lamp Required

Normally I don't do a lot of night time driving , but last night I was out and on the way home I realized 2 things, these 49yr old eyes are not as good as they once were and the STOCK HEAD LIGHT suxs.
I found 95%of the time I was driving with the HIGH BEAM just to be able to see far enough in front of me. Last thing I need is to hit an unseen pothole at 70mph .
What are some of the prefered and SIMPLE solutions for a 2008 Sportster ?
Is it as simple as a NEW BULB ? right now I'm not looking to change the looks at all. OR Do I need to replace the entire housing with one of these High Intensity lights?

I thought my eye sight was bad at first but I believe my light on my 06 Custom is AOK. I can see fine, bright enough for me but I'm not happy with the amount of light put off for other people to see me. I will put some small halogen lights on the front and some kind of auxillary lighting on the back. The back side is dangerously DIM. Check it out and you'll see what I mean. Oh yea, I'm 58 buy the way.

I installed a Diamond Cut Headlamp with a PIAA 60w/55w - 110w/100w Extreme White Bulb. To address the heat and fitment? I pounded out a 1.5 inch strap to fit the bucket. Had it chromed. My buddy who rewires ships did a kick **** job rewiring the bucket inside. It lights up the night for these old eyes. lol

PIAA is the bulb that cHarley runs also. I just couldn't remember the name. He must be out riding, and not checking the forum. I know he's still around somewhere. Got a nice picture email from him yesterday.
I don't remember the part number for the Silvania blub. Just take the stock bulb out and go to your local automotive parts store. It's a very common bulb. Get the Silver Star for that blub type. I believe it's an H4 blub.
Very easy to replace with just a screwdriver.
