I have Rush slip ons and I love the way they sound. A lot of people can't believe that I still have the stock header pipes and the only thing I changed was the slip ons. And they are a few hundred cheaper than an entire system. As for performance increase, I can't really say because I had these put on when I first purchased my Nightster.

If you want a full system the V&H sideshots are the way to go. 2:1 like performance for just a little more than the price of the short shots.

+1 on the Rush. I had them on my other Nightster and loved the sound.

Sideshots on mine. Absolutely love them Great sound, and the angle accents the tank lift quite well.

I like how the Sideshots look on the nightster, but on the Iron i prefer the ShortShots.

The sidshots are what I've been looking at because it looks like I can keep the mid controls on the bike and possibly do forwards if I ever feel like it and there is room to keep the passenger pegs on. I'm a tall guy but very comfortable with mid controls, the foot area is just cramped when I have a passenger on.

I have the Rush slip ons only, and am so far enamored with the sound. Nice and deep. Plan on the rest of the Stage 1 soon as $$ will allow. Pic below.

I just bought a set of sideshots! I decided to go with them because they are far supperior performance wise to the shortshots, and everywhere I go I see sportsters with shortshots and the reason is they are the cheapest full system you can get. Plus, since I do go out of state on my bike, I like how I will be able to change out the baffles for quiter ones or louder ones depending on where I am going to be riding!
