Default 1997 Sportster 1200 Sport

I just bought what appears to be a stock 1200 Sport as a ride for my wife. Can any of you advise if there are lowering blocks out there that would drop the rear end an inch or so? I think I'd rather go with the blocks rather than shortened shocks for now. Thanks.

Default Lowering Blocks

Yes, there are lowering blocks available for the Sportster, and you're smart for choosing lowering blocks over short shocks. You're wife would hate the pounding.

To do it right, after you install the lowering blocks, raise the fork tubes in the triple trees so that the chassis is level with the ground with your wife aboard in a normal riding position. That way the handling doesn't suffer.
