Default Thanks for tip on cleaning smears from exhaust.

Sorry for back to back posts. I haven't been here for a while. I just wanted to thank you guys who suggested using easy off oven cleaner for removing smears from exhaust. I have a set of Vance & Hines straightshots and after riding my bike for a while one day, I decided to clean some of the road grime from the pipes. Stupid me didn't wait for the pips to cool and started wiping with the polishing rag. The polishing rag must have nylon or polyester in it because some of it melted right on my new pipes. I almost s$#t. I didn't want to try using any kind of abrasive pad so after reading a post on cleaning exhaust I decided to try some oven cleaner. I started the bike up and let it warm the exhaust like an oven and then lightly sprayed the pipes trying not to get any cleaner away from the exhaust. I let it sit and the melted crap began bubbling off. After 3 applications my pipes looked new again. Thanks again. Tom
