Just took a quick look on ebay and found a 04 1200R with 8000 mi. and looks to be in beautiful condition for five and change. Item No. 190310702523 you live on the Left Coast and there has to be a ton of bikes out there. Good Luck. Oh and check this bike out on ebay it is a beauty.

I have to keep the price down, so thats why the 883. I will put a 1200 kit on it later. Is the rubber mount a better ride?

Yes. It is smoother. ( I had both )

If it's possible, it would be good for you to try one ( rubber mounted) to see the difference.

If you plan on building the motor. I'd be all over the 98.

I started off looking at the 883 for the same reasons, then I realized that you can 1200 for not a whole bunch of change more. I think it's worth the extra, even if you have to wait a little longer. I know that if I had done the 883, I would be dissatisfied with it today. But that's just me.

'98 or '03.

My 883 has plenty of zip and great gas mileage, and although I might want something bigger later, I'm keeping this one 883.
