Default Day Bags - saddle or T type

I'm looking for some reccomendations on a bag or set of bags to use for those days when you need to store or carry something like a jacket or small package. I've searched the forum and read about the LICS SOLO bag and also some THROW OVER saddles from fox creek. I'm just looking for an easy on and easy off bag to use on a limited basis.

PROS AND CONS PLEASE

I just bought a set of T bags this morning. See the first 3 pics in my album..

https://www.hdforums.com/forum/membe...ster-pics.html

Pros..
Easy to mount. On and off in two minutes... tops..
Reasonable size.
Separate roll bag.
Waterproof insert for roll bag.
Extra straps
Cargo net included
Cheap. The two bag set was @$90 at the Harley dealer.

Cons..
They are "water resistant", not "waterproof.
The back of the large bag does not have a solid insert so it tends to loose its
shape and wrap a bit around the sissybar which causes it to loose some volume.
The sissybar straps are Velcroed rather than buckled.
(the safety straps which are criss-crossed in the photo are clip ons with conventional buckles)
I'm not sure I'd trust the cargo net..
It done be yoo-gly...

The main bag itself is sold separately for @ $60.

You already have a sissy bar, any roll bag will meet your needs.

I did all this research myself and ended up getting the throwover saddlebags. However, now that it's all done, here's what I'd recommend. It looks like you've already got the detachable sissy bar so get the T-bags. If you decide to go with the throwovers, you'll have to change your set up to a rigid mounted sissy bar. The throwovers are nice to have and they hold plenty, but it's an expense you don't need and the detachable set up is nicer. I changed mine over and I wish I hadn't. My $.02.

I just run with throwovers....and just leave 'em, it seems I always need the room.

I can unzip and take the bags in and don't have to take the seat off.

I paid 130ish after tax.
Seemed more than fair.

good luck

Sure....I bought them at a local shop here in San Antonio called "Renegade Classics".
It's their own brand....model # 2907
Ask for "Ponch".

I have been looking at getting some U.S. Saddlebags (the banner ads). They make a nice looking sportster throw-over for about $220.
