Will I fit a sportster
#21
I didn't ask what bike to buy. I asked if my stature was a commonly acceptable one for a sportster and if not, what mods could be done to make a good fit. Victory's bikes are $13,000 starting so that's out of the question for now. I also would prefer a Harley over the history/heritage of it, which also rules out jap bikes.
I was thinking of the possibility of getting handle bars put onto a sportster. If this were done, could the speedometer and indicator lights be raised as well with the handle bars? I kinda don't like how the base of the handle bars are level with the tank, and I'd imagine raising the handle bars would do well in making the bike appear somewhat more fitting. I like the stock handle bars on the model so I'd hope to be able to keep those, just raise them a few inches if this is possible.

I am 6'0 and weigh around 185 - 190. Will a 2004 XL883 with a 27.3 seat height and forward controls fit me ok? I'm mostly concerned about if I will look to big for the bike as the bike seems to be comfortable when I have sat on it.
If I will look to big for it is there any mods that can be done to make it look like it fits better?

Bud,
Taking your questions at face value we wonder why your wanting a Harley?
Ive ridden since the mid 70's, didn't care what others thought. There are people here that have had $hit from other "bikers" about riding a "girls bike", point is if you care what others think, your on the wrong bike.
Buy an electric bike and call yourself a "cool dude" for riding an Obama SCOOTER.
