Default My new 883

I owned a few cruisers back before I was married but I haven't owned one for around 12 years now. This is my first Harley and I am a very proud to own it. This is my 99 hugger 883 that I just picked up Thursday night.

Thanks guys!

I tinkered in the shop until 1am this morning polishing all the chrome and cleaning the wheels. I cleaned the inside of the top pipe and missed the bottom pipe, that's why one looks new and one is black I noticed that today and cleaned it.

I didn't know that it had a lowering kit on it but I did notice the shocks looked adjustable. I am the third owner of of the bike. I bought it from an older lady who purchased it from an old mans estate who had passed away so she didn't know all the details either. The old man is the one who decked it out with all of the accessories. So I really don't know what all the bike has or doesn't have. I do know that it's got Screaming Eagle pipes and when I took the spark plugs out they were also screaming eagle "split tip" plugs. My buddies swear that it sounds like a 1200 but I have no idea if it's been bored or has a stage 1 kit or something like that or not.

The wifey and I finally got to do some riding today after the rain passed through. The drivers side forward control extension bar was rattling and driving me nuts. It looks like it needs bushing or spacers on each end to tighten them up a little. The bike runs and drives very good and I think it has all the power I need for mt style of cruising. I love the sound of the exhaust but I would like something a little louder so I am considering getting some drag pipes.

The wifey really enjoyed riding around today and said that she thinks we are going to spend a lot of time on the bike this summer.
