I have an Iron and faced the same question. Although the 883 is a smaller engine I found that they both have the capability to throw me back in my seat.
The Iron has the alloy wheels, which means tubeless wheels... which is more desirable.
If you like the look of the alloy wheels. Personally I prefer the look of spoked wheels even if you do have to run with tubes.
I disagree. If you want to black out the Nightster, buy the Nightster and black it out! That's what I did.
Do you have to pull out the engine to do the paint work? (or powder coated)? ? I am looking for any easier way to black it out like yours......Mine is a brand new bike which I am a bit reluctant to pull it apart just yet!!

The engine itself was not powder coated (but just about everything else that would come off was). When everything was apart / off for powder coating the bike was taped off and the egine was sprayed in wrinkle black paint. If you are a bit reluctant to take it apart this would not be the way to go for you either because everything was stripped of the bike (basically just a step away from dropping the engine).
