Default Sporty with a 240mm

I did a charity ride this weekend and came across a stock sporty... I would say early to mid 90's... It was all stock except for the basic bolt on's but had a 240 on the rear.. Looked pretty good.. I left my card in the helmet that was hanging from the bars and wrote please call me, I really like your bike. Got a few ??'s for you. I have not recieved a call yet...Well I got a customer of mine thats got a sporty and was really diggin that set-up..

Can anyone point me in the direction of where I can get this to help my customer out.

Thanks

-Tat

hey tat, I'm at work right now but I have seen kits for this in a few catalogs. Soon as I get home I'll check on it. I think I have seen some websites with them too.

just looked in my J&P catalog here at work and it has the kits in them. I think Jirehcycles has them too but I'll have to wait till i get home or you can look at: www.jirehcycles.com . Hope this helps some.

Found the kit on pg. 475 of J&P cycles catalog. it works on 91-03 sportys. cost is $999.99! Stock number is 701-885. I'm sure you can find it cheaper or make your own. Doesnt look that hard to make if you had the measurements.

Hey Ragin.. thanks allot man.. I looked in JP before but must have missed it.. Maybe my adult ADD kicked in... I will look in Jireh.. I am not a fan of them but I will take a look... I wish the guy would call me back.. hell I would pay him just to take a look and a few measurments.. I could make my own.. thanks again....

No problem man. Yeah being a welder I know that if you could get the measurements you could make them pretty easy. I was thinking of that myself when I saw how simple this kit is. Lemme know of you get some dimensions for it and the material used. I might just make myself one! Later man.[8D]

I'd like to see a pic of that. I'm thinking of bringing mine up to a 180 or 200 down the road but I'm not sure. I still want the comfort of a daily rider. What do you guys think?

I wish I had a pic of it... Man I plan to get a cell with a camera in it this weekend.. its hard to carry stuff when I ride the chopper.. its hard enough keeping my wallet in my pocket.. all the bouncing around...

If I find a pic I will pass it on.. Hell when I do it for my customer I will take pics of each stage if you like...

Ragin.. I just checked that one in JP.. I also just got off the phone with them... its deff a easy thing to do but the sporty I got to wrench on is a 05... so that is a set back... they said that one will not work...

I might try to get some dimensions and see what I can fab up at the shop..
