Default just the basics

i just bought my 1st bike and was wondering what the basic upgrades for a little more power were. i have a 2001 sportster xl 1200s. it has a few aftermarket pieces but are mostly asthetic (only thing i think makes a difference in power are the double barrel pipes). ive been researching the net and from what i gather need to re jet the carb and get a low restriction air filter for starters, and maybe drop the double barrel pipes for 2 to 1 pipes. anyways, just asking for any advice or recommendations. thank you all.

Air cleaner, there are several, get the one that you like. Pipes, again, several of them, get what you like, re-jet the carb is a must when doing the air cleaner and pipes.
Here's a suggestion, ride the scoot first and get used to it, make the bike "fit" you, make it comfortable to ride then do the upgrades. Just my opinion.

a/c, pipes, rejet, and start stripping all of the aftermarket bling (anything that doesn't make you go faster or stop faster.) less weight=more speed!!
