My question is this.....Did you fabricate a cover, to cover up under the springer seat? I ride in all weather so I wouldn't want the battery, wiring, fuses etc..to be exposed under the seat
No. I pulled all of the wiring and re-routed it so it's hidden in front of the battery. Other than the battery, there is no more exposure than with the stock seat. The ECM is under the new seat but I don't see how it's any safer in the stock location given that it was in a nonweather resistant pod directly above the rear tire.
I spray it off just about everytime I'm done for the day...no problems so far.

Can you post a close up pic of how it looks around and under the seat? Thanks

I'll take some pics Monday. Right now it's kind of caked with road sealer. Went on a ride for the troops today. 2500+ bikes, very hot roads...I got that crap all up my back.

Just FYI.....A spring seat is meant to go on a bike with a solid rear end, (Solid frame or strutted rear). But I have seen a couple bikes with rear shocks & a spring seat.
