Default Looking for info from 3/4 flip-up wearers

I've got a Fulmer 3/4 with an add-on flip-up with a visor that projects out too
far and is creating a hell of a lot of turbulence. I was cruising at 75-80 mph
(interstate speed limit is 75 in New Mexico) and I just had the crap pounded
out of me.

I have a 2009 1200 Custom fitted with the HD QD tombstone and I want to find
a combination that will allow me to keep a flip-up face shield and the screen.
I've searched the forum and read most of the threads that seemed to have
helmet info and that's why I'd really like to get info from people that are using
a 3/4 flip-up.

I think I'm having two problems with my helmet; it's too tall (it won't sit all the
way down yet is too tight on the sides to force down) and the add-on shield is
too far out in front allowing the wind to buffet it from side-to-side.

So what brands are you using? What problems? What would you change?
Did you buy your helmet online? If so from where?

These are a couple of helmets I've been looking at:

GM7X Cruiser Helmet with Shield

http://*******.com/ccpdwl

Suomy 2009 Model Nomad Helmet

http://*******.com/cbbyxg

Bell 2009 Model Mag-8 Helmet (I can't find a pic of how far down this helmet
closes; anyone know if it comes down completely or is the pic as far as it goes?)

http://*******.com/cbvzya

Any other suggestions?

Any help greatly appreciated.

The HD Blade helmet, (which is actually made by a company called AGI and can be bought from them for like $75 less with no harley stickers,) is a 3/4 with a flip up shield. I have it. Love it. it's more aerodynamic, i guess, because i do plenty of riding in rough wind and at 80-90 mph, sometimes fast, and never have much trouble.

I have the HD Jet II 3/4 helmet.

It's light and comfortable with a vent in front for when it gets hot.

It has a bit more road noise than I expected but overall its a nice helmet...priced around $150.00. For me it's a keeper.

Sorry, but any flip up and even some FF helmets when using a windshiled are going to buffett and shake more than a half or 3/4 with no visor or shield. I Ride with a windshield a fair amt. and typically ride with my daytona 3/4 (no visor or flip up) or my half and have little problems. Now when its cold or rainy and I have my FF on the up draft goes right under my chin and vibrates the helmet, worse if I'm wearing my wifes 3/4 with flip up shield. Using windshields however nice they can be always create some buffetting and headshake, some expericence it more than others.

I have the Jet II that someone suggested above. A couple weeks after I got it I was finishing up a ride and flipped up the shield and the plastic hinge on the right side broke apart. I actually use the helmet still and like it without the shield.

If you're wanting to use it with the shield, I'd probably look at other makes.

What model Fulmer are you using? I have a Fulmer 655 3/4 with full face shield and love it.
