Default PC III Help!! (searched but cant find anything)

hey guys I just installed a PCIII in my 2007 nightster, it is stock in every way exept the guy who had it before me punched out the exhaust,
my dealer recommended I install it to richen up the bike,

I'm running...

*Advanced Map* Stock exhaust, Stock air filter, Stock ECM, Dynojet O2 sensor eliminators installed, Rev Xtend enabled, Fuel table 1 is rear cyl

and am not sure if its the right map, I had a slight poping sound from the exhaust before I installed it but nothing to serious,

but now after the install I get alot more poping and its alot louder too,

I have included a few pix of my spark plugs before I installed the PCIII
I'm no expert in reading them so I was hopeing some one here could tell me if I was running to lean?

also can someone tell me if I'm running the right map?
or recommend a better one?

Thanks in advance.

I really didn't run mine stock very long so I can't really help to much. I would try running the zero map (no fuel added or taken away) and see how it runs. Also, if you picked it up from FuelMoto Jamie has been more helpful than anyone knows what to do with.

Ok I just talked to a rep from the
company that makes the PCIII and he set
Me up with the right map, but he told me
The poping is normal, he said it was the
Unburned fuel ignighting in the exhaust
Pipe, so its a rich pop, I have always
Associated the poping noise as being a
Lean condition,
Any one have the same thing happen after the PCIII
Install??

On a fuelie, a pop on decel is a lean condition, and as far as im concerned is not 'normal'. To much fuel (rich) would be more of a backfire, two very different sides of the coin and two very different recognizable 'pops'....Ide talk to Jamie sounds like that hes done right by many here...Its real hard to richen a fuelie up enough to make it backfire so ide be very leary on the information you got from DynoJet rep.

Thats what I thought, I dont think its a backfire,
a back fire sounds to me like the cars from the 70's that werent running right (gun shot sound) and it doesnt sound like that,
he said I could richen it up a bit and it would help,
he also said it would be very hard to get rid of completely.

on a fuelie what would be causing the pop?
I know its a lean condition but how does it work?

Not enough fuel. Ide add a small amount to the 0% (throttle closed) part of the PCIII. Or make sure your stop switch is in the 'run' position, and press all 3 buttons down on your PCIII and then press the #1 (low) button, and press it again to richen it up, the line will move up. Take it for a ride see if that cured the problem. What happens is your doing 60 mph and let off the throttle theres not enough fuel getting to the motor, you still have the RPM's but at 0% throttle you have no fuel, or not enough thus causes poping. HIGHLY unlikely your getting a new style EFI sporty running to rich for it to backfire, or pop

sound like a plan, I will try that tomorrow and ost the results,
could I also connect it to the computer and add a 5 or 10 to the 0 collum right through from 500 rpm to red line?
or is the 3 button way the same thing?

I had some loud as hell gunshot popping on decel when i put the Short shots, SE a/c, and PC III on my bike. I added 20 to the 0% throttle position on the map from 1500 rpm up and it fixed almost all of the popping. I still get occasional popping but not even close to gunshot sounds now.

ok so I have finaly adjusted the PCIII it took me a few days because I have a blown starter relay,
anyways I added 10 to the 0 column and now when the bike is idling and I rev it I get alot of black smoke,
would it help if I lowered that number in the 0 column bellow 2500 or so?
or would that defeat the purpose?

You can try decreasing the number and see what happens. If it doesn't work out correctly just change it back. Also make sure you don't have an exhaust leak where it bolts up, that will cause popping too.
