Had my bike dynoed cause it was popping horribly and was sluggish in midrange. The fuel curve was all over the place. They straightened that out and put a full custom map in it and it runs awesome now, fuel curve is nice and smooth. Still gets popping if I let off the gas and not clutch as it decels. It is considerably less than before the dyno, but still seems like it pops more than I'd like. Before, man, it would pop when I shifted gears. Better now, but I was wondering if I could do what you said above and not screw up my custom map? I'd just like to see if I can improve or lessen the popping anymore. I have the hooker troublemakers which are prone to pop, so I may just leave it well enough alone. Thoughts?

You won't hurt anything by adding some to the 0% throttle position. All you have to do if it doesn't help is just change it back to what it was before. I'd try to add 10 at first then increase it by 5 until it makes you happy. All it is doing is adding gas when you close the throttle. The worst thing is it could decreae your gas mileage with stop and go traffic.

Is this an easy thing to do? I haven't messed around with it, so how do I go about doing it? Just hook up my lappy and use the program to adjust the 0% throttle position I suppose......

Any leak no matter how slight is going to contribute to a decel pop

Yep that's how you do it. Before you begin, save the original map on your laptop if you haven't already. There are detailed instructions that came on the cd with your PC or you can download them off their site.

I'm running...

*Advanced Map* Stock exhaust, Stock air filter, Stock ECM, Dynojet O2 sensor eliminators installed, Rev Xtend enabled, Fuel table 1 is rear cyl

and am not sure if its the right map, I had a slight poping sound from the exhaust before I installed it but nothing to serious,

but now after the install I get alot more poping and its alot louder too,

I have included a few pix of my spark plugs before I installed the PCIII
I'm no expert in reading them so I was hopeing some one here could tell me if I was running to lean?

also can someone tell me if I'm running the right map?
or recommend a better one?

Thanks in advance.

anybody take into consideration that the exhaust has been punched out? I mean anytime you remove baffles from the exhaust you are gonna get popping.....from looking at the pics of his plugs I'd say it was running damn-near perfect....

Yep you'll get popping with no baffles and/or short pipes but you can reduce it as much as you can.

thats good to hear, I was still wondering about the plugs,
I'm ok with the poping (I kinda like it) as long as I can be sure its not harming the motor.
I'm going to try and set the 0 column at 5 from about 500 to 1500 RPM and see if that helps with the black smoke.
