Thanks for your help. Yes this is all with the key in the off position. The bike doesn't have a security system installed on it. So that narrows it down slightly, I think. I have a couple of hours to tink around with it tomorrow afternoon before work.

Excellent news. Got the bike running today. There was a short in the run/off switch. Took it apart and rewired it.


However a new problem has arisen. The speedometer now does not work. It started to work, and now the backlight and the arm dosn't register the speed. The tachometer works though... any new suggestions >.>? bad wiring? or bad Speedometer?
