They saved my a$$ once already. I have the highway footrest on mine and when i went down still doing about 20 mph they kept the bike off the street. Only the underside of the pipes got scratched. Ugly?maybe, but who gives a damn, they paid for themselves and that a fact, JACK!

It's 4 bolts to install them (and use Locktite). Couldn't be easier.

Default Crash Bars

I remember when they used to be called crash bars ! LOL Now it's PC to call them engine guards . Well I have them on My 06 C and attached a set of Highway pegs on them . I like the looks of them so it wasn't a issue for Me, plus the way the car drivers are it's another bit of insurance . ....WVleo

I personally don't like the looks of the engine guards, but they may have saved me a few$$$ when my wife had a few too many and tried to stand the bike up. CRASH BANG #%@*%. The bike had little damage (scrtched the stock pipes and she had to let me get my new V&H pipes) but she crushed her foot and couldn't walk for a month.

Default any bars that fit w/ custom pipes?

As far as the 'look' of the bars, I think, like stated earlier it depends on the 'look' you're into. I want some to mount pegs on, comfort dupes style in my situation.
Does anyone know if custom pipes cause problems for installation?
I have Sampsons on my 02', and not sure if the regular HD bars will work. And, the damn Lindby (sp) engine guards are priceyyyyyy!

Anyone?
