Default Speed...

Ok so I have only been ridin about a month and have put 150 miles on the bike.

Question on getting more comfortable with higher speeds. Yesterday I was crusin around and noticed that I feel most comfortable between 45-55 mph. When I go 60mph the handling feels pretty strained or maybe I am tensing up.. Is it the bike? is it too much wind ???

It's called adrenaline . Seeing as how you've only been on it for a month you've more than likely got white knuckle syndrome as you hit higher speeds. You'll also notice the bike moves around a bit at 75+ mph, just ride the **** out of her and you'll get used to it.

Did the same thing when I started, it will pass. don't drive past your limitations and relax your shoulders and hands.

I've had mine for about 2 months. I go 80-90 on the interstate. Been over 100 on it. Love it. Yeah, it moves around a bit, but it ain't goin nowhere. Nothing worse than hurricane force winds on the interstate to screw up a good speed run. 3/4 open face can be a bitch. Heh, heh.....

i had the same problem wen i started. you just have to slowly learn how to relax your hands and shoulders at those speeds. nothing but experience is gonna solve that. my hands actually used to go numb because i was gripping so hard

Just ride it. Only way your gonna get more comfortable is with experince. When you are doing 60 are you in 4th gear or in 5th?

Your doing better than me, I rode mine the other day for the first time. Round the block a couple times, because I missed the turn into the alley the first time around. Never took it out of first gear.
Got the riders edge this week, I think I will wait a bit and crash on one of their bikes.

I just took my iron out for the first time yesterday...let's just say I never had so much fun going around 20-25 mph. If I had more time to go I probably would have gotten higher, but the wife wanted to go somewhere so I stuck to the burbs. It was such a difference form the bikes at the msf class! (as if I didn't think it would be)
