knoxy66, this thought won't explain the codes your bike is throwing, but I do recall that in the manual it specifically mentions keeping the fob away from cell phones while riding. I have an 08 Custom as well and always keep the fob in a front jeans pocket and my cell phone in a jacket or jeans pocket on the opposite side of my body from where I've got the fob. Haven't had your problem, but then mine is also bone stock. Just a thought to add to the pile of good ideas already thrown out.

 

For the lean codes, I was running Xieds and the fuelpak for awhile but it seemed like it was running really rough so I pulled the Xieds off and it seemed to even out a little and run better. I know the Xieds cause the ecm to throw those codes so I wasn't too worried about it. I've heard about the cell phone things. I checked all the cables and relays and it's a nice day so we'll see what happens today.

 

The relay could still be bad inside but look alright,better carry a spare or be ready to swap them around and short across bad one to start the bike,mine was throwing o2 codes,but it was abad relay
