Am I to big for a Sportster?
Hello to everyone! I've recently been bitten by the bug and I find myself taking double takes at bikes going down the road and can't stop day dreaming about heading down the road on a bike of my own. I've been looking at bikes and of course I have been looking closely at the sportster, pretty much because they are the most affordable, but now I find myself more attracted to them because of there simple streamline look. I was just wondering if anyone thinks I am to big for a sportster. I'm 6'1 230 pounds, let me know what you guys think.

well..... it all depends on the bike your looking at. my wife bought a 883 custom and I thought it was alot of fun and I could see riding it for a couple hours with no problem. then she decided to trade for an 883 iron. it is a blast to ride but I feel like it is way too small for me. I am 6'5" and 240. my advice is just ride one and see for yourself. I ride an ultraclassic and it fits me perfect right out of the box.

If you feel cramped try one with forward controls and see if it feels better.
I felt cramped sitting on a sporty with mid controls so I bought forwards, rolled into the price of the bike. They didnt have the forwards in stock so I took delivery of the bike with mids (couldn't wait). Now I'm kinda used to the mid controls and I'm not in a big yank to get the forwards put on even though the parts and labor have been paid for.
Either way, forwards or mids, you are not too small for a Sportster.
