Default PCIII install problem

Installed my PCIII today, followed the instructions from the site, but the plug just doest seem to have enough room under the seat, seat now sits about an inch higher than normal and a little forward, dosent seem to be any real room or place to move anything around to get a better fit, not to keen on the way the seat fits now as wel as the concern for crushing the connector. , is this normal ? is there a better way?,

I bought my PCIII from FuelMoto and followed the instructions that came with it. The stock seat fits fine and I even have a custom seat from C&C Seats that fits fine. My bike is an 08 1200C. Don't know if there is any difference between bikes.

Its a tight squeeze, keep playing with it till its as tucked in as possible. Then the only solution is to ride the **** out of it. After a couple thousand miles, the wires will be formed how they need to be. You can then take the seat on and off at will and have no problems. make sure the seat at least gets hooked on the i bolt under there. The seat will rub the connector which is normal but won't hurt anything.

I had the same issue with mine. My best adice is to get a bunch of zip ties and keep moving things around until it fits. It sounds to me like your seat didn't catch on the peg in the center. I felt a small lump in the middle of my seat for about a week after I put mine in. That will go away.

As I recall, I moved a lot of factory wires/harness and connectors to get everything to snap in. It helps to adjust the wiring in warm weather, or inside. Yes, and you'll need twist ties. Oh, I recall removing the battery to help me accomplish the chore, if that helps you. It took me 2 hours just to wire it up. Be patient. It works.

I have a Sundowner seat on my 1200. The PCIII still fit in there snug. Like tinman said, use the electrical ties, move other wires and cables around and fill in all holes with what ever will fit in them. Just be careful you don't PINCH any wires or cables on the frame, etc. Yep, it can be a pain in ***, but if you are patient, you can get it to fit ok.

Thanks for the replys , ive had another go at at it gained abit more space and better seat position, might try moving the battery out like F1J1 said, see if that helps a bit.

I just installed mine (2007-1200C) and it was a real pain in the ****! Once you take the battery out there is all kinds of room above the battery to the left... I wound up untaping the wireing harnes (i.e. the section under the seat). This allows you reposition the wires. After I re-taped the wires, I was able to move the BIG connector, from my stock harness, to the space over the battery. The Power Commander now fits under the seat....

Hope this helps
