Default wiring question

I have a little wiring question. I have a 2008 Nightster.

I have recently relocated my speedometer to the coil mount bolt and I have installed a new handlebar clamp with the indicator strip mount in it. I have 6" risers and when I went to hook up the indicator lights, the wiring was not long enough. DOH!

Actually, there is only one wire that is holding me back. Out of the main wiring bundle there is a small orange wire that splits. one of the splits goes to the speedo and the other to the indicator lights, which is now too short (because of the speedo relocation).

Basically, I need to extend this orange wire about 4 inches.

I have never done ANY wiring work on a motorcycle. Is this problem simply solved by getting a similar piece of wire and splicing it in? Is there more to it? If it is that simple, where do I get that kind of wire.

Help, please. I have included a picture to illustrate the problem.

I cant' tell by the pic but does that split come apart? If so is the other side connected with a pin? You might be able to get a new length of wire and have the local harley dealer crimp a new pin on your new wire. That damn crip tool is $$$ if its the one I am thinking it might be.

I think its 18 gauge wire but I am just guessing.

The orange wire is a power wire you will have to extend it. Just cut it and solder & shrink tube it with new wire the same size could be #16 or #18 not sure.Do not crimp it,if it comes apart things wont work,Like the whole gauge!
