sporties are made to be... sporty... 75 mph should not be such a big deal for this bike... if im not mistaken, the sportsters are made to rev a little higher than the big twins... i had a 08 1200c that didnt mind doin 95 plus when ever i wanted...

I have done 75 to 80 for hours with no problems. I have done a little more on occasions.

I've seen 80 mph in 4th gear on mine and I guess it would do 200 in 5th if I had the ***** to shift one more time and stay in the throttle!

What, 75? Drive it like you stole it, when the power bands fades, it's time to grab another gear. Although, the HD incentive of offering full trade in value for any sportser to big V-twin seems like a good solution for you. I can't even use 6th gear until 70mph.

I've gotten my 1200N up to 110, but I tell you, that is some scary chit. especially on Pennsylvania roads...
