xr looks like a good choice safer and cheaper (tickets wise)
i had an r1 and i never found a road that was enough for that bike. it always had more left in the throttle-scary fast! you can do like 70 in first gear, there is no need for that kind of speed on the street. 1000's strsstbikes should be limited to the track only in my opinion. to many idiots who cant ride in the first place want to use it as a dik extension and end up dying on them. power to wieght ratio is just retarded!!!

 

My thoughts exactly. Way too much bike for the average rider. Myself included.

 

My uncle just got a 09 Fat Boy for a second bike and he let me ride it this past Friday. I have to say that I have never been a big fan of the Fat Boy looks and after riding it i'm not a fan of it 100% now. Don't get me wrong-it's a nice bike and is smooth as hell, but it was just not fun like my sporty is and I like the raw feel that the sportys have. It's so smooth that when I dropped it into gear I had to look to see in the N light was off LOL! My bike makes a sweet clunk and jumps a big when dropped into gear and I love that-even my sport bike does that. Oh and the stock pipes sounds like crap!!
