Default Torn between the 883 and the 883C

Firts of all I love HDForums. You could seach the whole web and not find the info that you get here. My dilema is I am stuck in Iraq but getting a great deal on Harley's out here. I can't deside between the 883 and the 883C. This is my first bike so most of my riding will be solo. I do how ever plan to do some 2 up with the wife after I get some miles under my belt. I love the way that the 883 looks and the history behind it, but the custom seams to have a couple of good features. Any input and pics will be greatly appriciated. Thanks .

I have an 06 883C and love it. Stealership told me it goes for around 1000.00 more than the standard 883. The "R" version is pretty neat too. Soooo many choices so little time............ Take care over there, come home safe

I ride a 2003 883C and love it! BUT if I was buying a new ride....I'd buy the XL1200R orange and black!

My two cents....

Go with the C. All My Opinions - Better looks, some parts are easier to clean (silver motor, rear wheel, etc), and more comfortable ride w/ forward controls. I've had two 883c's and loved them both. Here's some pics as you requested. Thank you for getting the job done over there and helping to keep our Country and families safe. Very much appreciated and hope you get back stateside soon and safe.

thanks for the pics and comments. I tough about the 1200 but I am trying to stay withing buget, plus I know that you could beef up the 883 for a couple of bucks. It may be the tank and wheels on the 883 that old school look KICKS ***! But the C does is a looker.. As far as being over here I can't complain, kind of like taking out the trash yea it gets messy and it stinks but it has to get done.

The big plus to buying the 883 is of course reduced insurance costs. A couple of my buddies bought 883's and did the conversion to 1200. They pay insurance for an 883 and ride a 1200!

In Dec went to dealer with all intensions of buying a 06 standard 883, when i got there they showed me a 05 883C left over wound up buying it and have no regrets, more chrome, foward controls which after riding it I like alot, laced wheels, a tank that is large enough to go on group rides without having to be the first one to stop for gas.
