First of all, I'm brand new to this forum and relatively new to riding so forgive me in advance for any stupid questions. I have a 2008 XL883C Custom. Love the bike but looking for a little more radical look. I would like to install drag bars but would definitely need more height than what the stock risers offer. What I am wondering is if there is a way to get rid of the stock risers and get the position that I want while still being able to mount the speedo at the top of the risers. I am trying not to spend too much money doing this but I doubt it will be cheap. I would love to do everything myself but just don't have the time (I'd rather be riding during the little free time I have ). Please let me know any thoughts and/or suggestions. Thanks!!!

 

I have an 05 xl that I installed drag bars on.I used the stock risers and was concerned about being hunched over and having back pain.I was pleasantly surprised that it is actually very comfortable to ride.I know the custom has taller risers than my xl.I would try some drags with the stock riser first before buying new risers and top clamp and wahtever else you may need.
