One of the problems Harley has is with there dealers. Not everybody wants to spend 20K on a bike, not everybody wants to finance. When I was shopping around from dealer to dealer no matter what I told them I was looking at they immediately started to sell up, like I wasn't able to decided what I wanted. I just happened to want a Sportster 1200C I'm not a big guy, I didn't want a big ole dresser but they were sure I did. I gave my business to the dealer that listened to what I wanted, how I was going to use it and gave me a good deal. If they would quit pushing the big expensive touring bikes they might get more business. Times are tuff, women are smart enought to know this and determined enought to have it there way.
This is news to you guys? When the 883c and 1200c were introduced in 04 they were marketed as having an easy pull clutch, smaller diameter hand grips and a lower seat height .
Who do you think they were trying to attract?
Funny thing is, I was at my dealer today hangin out with my buddy (he's the sales guy) and a 22 yr old Asian female came in today with her friend and started asking around about the Iron. She told us she is currently in the MSF program and she's looking to purchase the Iron in about 2 weeks. Got me a little excited
