Default Sportster Oil Tank

I have a 91 sporty that I think may have a hairline crack. It will leak oil from somewhere, cant really nail down where, only when I ride it hard, like 4500+ rpm. I have compression clamps on the lines and cant seem to find where its coming from. SOB!

I've heard that the 94 up tank is improved somehow, does anyone know what is different and is it worth changing to it if I need to? It looks like I'd need to change the battery tray also?

Thanks

Your right about the 91 oil bag. Mine does the same thing!!! You can buy a new chrome tank for $99......That's the route I'm going....Also, you can buy stuff that will line the inside of the tank, which seals the leaks. But you have to have the inside of the tank Clean. There are places you can take the tank to, that will clean and line it for you. If your interested in a new chrome tank holler at me and I'll look it up in the book and share the info with you.

Default tank

Yeah, that sucks, I just bought this bike in Nov, stripped it and started from scratch! I'm thinking about going with a new HD unit, the 94-03 tank is 171.20, then the new bat tray is 20.00, cant wait till the wife sees me getting more parts UPS!
