It saddens me to see how many people are put our or displeased with there local dealers. I work at a dealer who does about 300 bike sales a year, we do more service work then motorclothes, and parts combined. We have 4 HD certified techs, and have no problems bringing the customer out back and having them point specific problems out to us, clean and buff there bike after they got a coffee & donut or soda and hotdog from the customer lounge...

Were not a huge shop, they purposly built it small due to the demographic were located. People are more customer service oriented than our facility about an hour away which is close to the MA boarder.

Personally, not just because I work at a dealer, I found as a customer. Having the service record on your file can be your best friend. I found doing warrenty stuff the Tech Services always is first to ask "do you have service record for John Does bike" or "where has the bike been serviced"

I am not a fan of the dealer I purchased mine from mainly due to the fact that before I even finished singing the paper work they were telling me that if I touched the bike in anyway the warrenty would be voided. That is crap and really put a bad taste for the dealer. I have found another dealer, the one I should have purchased from, that does not hold that standard on their customers. I do understand that if I crack the case or snap a head bolt because of something I did it would not be covered, but to say that there is nothing that I can do to my bike becuase the pipes void the electrical is crap.
