Default replacing handlebars?

Hey guys, question for those of you who've replaced handlebars. I have an 07 1200C. Do I need "dimpled" bars? I've seen some out there that are, and some that arent, and some have referenced being dimpled for use with stock controls. Now sure what I need here. I replaced bars on my old virago a while back and for that bike, bars were bars. No big deal. What am I looking at here?
THanks.
Chad

the handlebar control consoles have all their outgoing cables sheathed and in order for it to not get crushed by the clamp to the handlebar, the bar itself needs to have a small space for that sheathed cable to go under so it does not get crushed by the console clamp

its no big deal and without the dimple you can just file away a small portion of the console to allow that space.

other than that its the same thing as any other motorcycle

+1 on what Joe said. Dimpled will allow the wires to come out under the controls as stock. Non-dimpled and you'll need to create/file an outlet into the control for the wires to coome out.....Or go with drilled bars and do internal wiring.

Internal wires, you will pay for in the long run. Seen too many bike's go to sh#t for that reason alone. Yea, It may look pretty, with out the wires hanging out, but if you get a short your f#cked. Try to find it. I've seen guys rip there whole bike down just to find a short in the framework or bars. The bars with the dimples are meant for the wires to be outside not in. The bars I bought for my ride had holes in them for the clips to hold the wires. Harleys are the best vibrators, it's why woman love them so much, they can vibrate any thing loose! And still do a 1/4 mile in less than 13 sec. Find me another bike that can do that! Best of luck, HOLLYWOOD

if you run the internal wires without splice's and put heatshrink tubing on you'll never have any problems....
