Default sundowner

Just got a sundowner and I am not sure if I like it over the stock. I seem to slide forward when braking and backward on acceleration. The seat itself wiggles on the bike, not as tight of a fit as the stock. Anyone else with these problems?

no problems with mine.
be sure the seat is bolted down tight.
The Sundowner did move me up a little bit closer to the bars, but I don't move when riding. Try leaning back a little in the seat when riding a more 'touring' position.
If you still have problems, you might want to try another seat.

I slide only when I try to move back where I think I should be sitting, if I stay forward, I don't move as much. My ***** are basically touching the gas tank!

Ev, did you make absolutely certain that it locked down over the center post, it sounds like its riding on top of it. I road about 1/2 mile on the stocker then put the Sundowner on it, I love it.

Had the same experience. You will love the seat. Just takes a few miles to break in.

You did mention that the seat moves around. Are you sure you got the post on the frame into and locked to the seat??

Is there a particular way of putting it on? I bought it used and it didn't come with instructions, but from my experience with seats, you slide the metal part in to the front and push down.

The sundowner is different from the stock seat. Takes a while to get used to it, but its way more padded and comfy.

Mine wiggles as well...I talked to the dealership about it...they said "yip...it sure does"...and that was it...woohooo...but I still like the seat over stock, and it doesn't wiggle that much while riding...but you're not alone...

Yes, you slide the tongue into the connection at the base of the fuel tank, but then you need to push down on the seat, and slide it back. There is a post on the fender that is a keyhole type connection for the middle part of the seat. It should NOT wiggle. It can be a bit tricky to make sure the post connects into the keyhole fitting.

I'll have to recheck it, I only went on a short ride to test it out, its a bit cold and windy here. And the seat doesn't wiggle or move while I ride it, only when I move it while its sitting. I noticed the wiggle after installation, I checked to make sure it was firm and it moves a bit, but I guess its the super thick foam moving? Good to hear its normal. The sliding part is the most annoying though, I guess I am not used to being closer to the tank. I'll have to give it some longer rides to see how I feel.
