Sidekick on a Nightster
Since my wife really wanted to ride with me on my Nightster I bought a Sidekick seat from Surdyke - part #52859-04A. As with many other Harley part #s, fit was somewhat optimistic. While riding, the front tab (much more narrow than the slot) would come out of the mounting slot and the seat would slide over. I found a few other people who had mentioned this problem, but not many.
Here is my fix:
I cut a piece of 1" flat aluminum stock 2" long and pop-rivited it to bottom of the mounting tab on the seat. This eliminates the space that allows the tab to move out of the slot and also fixes the seat on center. I did not take any pictures, but I can if anyone really wants to see what I did.
