Default Powder coat OVER ceramic coat? (heat shields)

I have a few scratches on the bottom edge of my heat shields and my painter didn't fill them before he ceramic coated them again. The shields are fully covered, but I don't want these deep scratches showing even though you can only see them from up close. Is there a way to better prep them for ceramic coat (apparently body filler won't work), or should I prep them as you would any other body work and powder coat them and will the powder coat hold up in the heat?

Thanks!

D

Powder coat will work fine on the heat shields but normal body filler will not. I suggest using JB Weld to fill the scratches then sand smooth. The powder coat will stick to it and it will take the heat.

Actually, if I remember correctly, PC only sticks to bare metal. The process involves electrically charging the part and the powder, and they attract to eachother, then are baked.
Correct me someone if I'm wrong.

JB Weld is liquid metal... I've been in the powder coating biz a long time, I know what I'm talk'n about and wouldn't give advice if I wasn't sure.

Does the ceramic coating have to be stripped off first, or can the liquid metal and the powder coat go over top?

It must be stripped first.

That's what I meant.
It can't be PC'd if it's not stripped of the ceremic.

You would have to lightly tig weld over the scratches and grind them out and then i would suggest having them re-ceramic coated.A hi heat powder might last a while but i have had alot of bad experiences with using it on heat sheilds, its got to the point that a will not warrenty it on heat sheilds.Don`t get me wrong powder coating has its place like on a frame or swing arm,but not a place where lets say your leg is going to rubbing up next to it all the time.Jb weld is not liquid metal,it requires a hardner to make it become hard and will out gas during the curing process and will leave you with a bigger mess than your scratches.
