Default couple of problems with my nightster

I did a coil/speedo relocation last weekend and raised my tank 1.5 inches and ran my wiring between the tank and backbone. Also did an oil change. Now, my speedo shuts off and on when im riding(odometer/clock stays on) my engine light has come on a couple times(only for a second or two) and my bike wants to die @ red lights(but usually when the engine is still cold, but never did this before). It seems to be running pretty rich, because I can smell gas pretty strong when its idleing.

I double checked all my connections under the tank and made sure nothing was getting pinched. Any suggestions???

Are your battery connections tight? I've seen the same symptoms from a loose ground connection to the battery...

Does the speedo read the front tire or the rear? I remember on my old suzuki, I had the same thing going on with the speedo going on and off, and turned out the speedometer cable wasnt screwed in good on the front wheel. maybe something similar is going on here???
