Default 2002 Sportser 1200 Custom - Good Deal?????

I have the opportunity to purchase a 2002 Sportster 1200 Custom with 3100 miles on it. It's been garaged, has custom pipes, lowering kit, Red and grey paint and some chrome extras. They are asking $8,000 for it, which I think is a pretty good deal, but being inexperienced in the pruchasing department, I thought I would reach out to some more experienced riders.

Like I said before:

"Not a bad deal, but not a great deal either.

Just my opinion."

I would say it's a little high for a 2002 since it isn't a rubber mount engine. When buying a used bike, remember, the extras don't add value unless they are something you would add.

I just bought a 2003 1200C with 18,000 miles but one owner, pipes and spare seat. No funky motor work, some service records. $6500. If you really like it it might be worth it otherwise keep shopping.

You can fine a 04 with rubber mounted engine for that price. They say much less vibration

I think it's at the very high end as far as price goes. A brand new bike isn't much more money. Look around. Lots of low mileage Sportys out there.

Not completely up to date on prices in the States, but from what I've seen it sounds high for an 02. He probably wants to sell so he can buy a rubber mount
