Default installation question on the mustang solo seat

So my vintage solo seat for the sporty arrived. Have a quick install question. On the old stock seat, it relied heavily on that center "stud" that you had to get into the seat by pressing forward on the seat. But it seems the mustang seat does not use this, rather that "stud" just free floats in the hole they put in the seat. Is that right? Is installation simply putting the front clip in first, then screwing down the back? I guess the main question here is, Does the solo mustang seat use the center stud like the old seat did?

Mustang and many other aftermarket seats do not use the center stud, it's not needed.
